May 26, 1916

     A lone bandit boarded westbound Texas and Pacific passenger train No. 53
at Grand Cane at 10 o'clock Monday night, bound and gagged Mail Clerks A.
B. Blum and L. P. Brown, colored, rifled 13 registered letters, leaving
checks and taking an undertermined amount of currency.  He left the train
at Reisor at midnight.
