The People's Vindicator October 15, 1881
MURDER.

On Thursday a difficulty occurred between Ursin Rachal and a young free 
colored boy named Francisco L'lorena, on Little or Athao river, in the 
southern portion of the parish.  L'lorena iterally butchered Rachal with a 
knife, killing him almost instantly. The boy succeeded in making his escape, 
and thus far has eluded the officers.  He is only 15 years of age.  Mr. Rachal 
leaves a wife and three children to lament his untimely fate.
