Winnfield, LA.
Joy Ates, age 95 of Natchitoches, La. died Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at
Natchitoches Parish Long Term Care Hospital in Natchitoches, La. She was a 
member of Sanders Assembly of God and Calvary Baptist Long Term Care Ministry.
She is the daughter of the late Allen Franks and the late Addie (Oliver)
Franks.
She is survived by her: Son: Allen Ates and his wife Helen of
Natchitoches, La. Eleven grandchildren; Twenty Four great-grandchildren; Twenty 
One great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Ates was preceded in death by her husband Ira Ates; her daughter
Sybil Mixon; her son, W.A. Ates; and two Great-Grandchildren, Lonnie Page 
and Lee Ann Mixon.
Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield,
La., where the family will receive friends from 5PM until 9PM Thursday 
May 13, 2004 and from 8AM until time of services on Friday, May 14, 2004. Funeral 
services will be at Southern Funeral Home Chapel at 2PM. Friday, May 14, 2004. 
with Rev. Max Ates officiating.
Interment will follow at the Sanders Chapel Cemetery in Calvin, LA. Grandsons and
Great-Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
