Barnes of Natchitoches, died Wednesday, May 31. Mr. Barnes was a veteran of World War II, and was a retail merchant. Survivors include two sons, Charles E. Barnes of Shreveport, and James E. Barnes of Many; one daughter, Mrs. Linda Haire of Shreveport; six brothers, Roy Barnes of New Orleans, Walter Barnes of Slidel, Edmund M. Barnes of Pleasant Hill, Levassar Barnes, Gordon Barnes, and Jerry Barnes, all of Detroit, Michigan; two sisters, Mrs. Shirley Neal, and Mrs. Pat Durr, both of Pleasant Hill; mother, Mrs. Vivian Barnes of Pleasant Hill; and three grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 3, in Blanchard Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Jim Constable officiating. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Blanchard's.
