Ferguson officiating. Burial with graveside services will be at 4 p.m. in Hemphill Cemetery, Hemphill, Texas. Bennett, 72, of Montrose died Thursday, Jan. 8, 1998, in Natchitoches Parish Hospital. He was a native of Montrose, a retired crane operator for Brown and Root Construction and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Vivian A. Bennett of Montrose; one son, Benny Bennett of Hemphill, Texas; three daughters, Pat Carver of Waynesville, Mo., Barbara Jones of Denton, Texas, and Julie Everett of Addison, Texas; two sisters, Lois Ingison of Fla., and Edith Risley of Austin, Texas; four brothers, James Bennett, Robert Bennett and Richard Bennett, all of Flatwoods , A.J. Bennett of Melrose, Texas, and Ray Bennett of Syracuse, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Noah Sers, Glen Sers, Carter Jackson, Buzz Salard, Lonnie Dowden, Floyd Breedlove and Harvey Lynn Bennett.
