BERRY Alexandria Town Talk, March 19, 1998 MARTHAVILLE -- Services for Charles Edward Berry will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Old Pisgah Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Dyess officiating. Burial will be in Old Pisgah Cemetery under direction of Blanchard-St. Denis. Berry, 68, of Marthaville died Wednesday, March 18, 1998, in his residence. He was a native of Marthaville and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korea War. He was a retired driller from Reading/Bates Drilling Company of Morgan City. Survivors include his wife, Opal Goings Berry of Marthaville; two sons, Charles Doyle Berry of Alexandria and Donald Ray Berry of Marthaville; one stepson, Randall Hillard of Marthaville; two daughters, Brenda L'Dell Green of Shreveport and Belinda Sue Veuleman of Natchitoches; one stepdaughter, Pat Hall of Marthaville; his mother, Mattie Broadway of Robeline; three sisters, Ethel Freeman of Natchitoches, and Mildred Stoker and Hattie Mae Hall, both of Robeline; one brother, Harvey Berry of Fort Worth, Texas; nine grandchildren, four stepgrandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Louis Carnline Jr., Ralph Jordan, Cory Veuleman, Keith Birdwell, Shawn hall and Drake Berry. Friends may call from 4-10 p.m. today in the funeral home and from 9 a.m. until time of services Friday in the church.
