MARY LOU BROWN Natchitoches Times August 10, 1956 Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Whatley Brown, 78, were held Saturday, Sept 10 at 10 a.m. in United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Ronald Nation officiating. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery under the direction of First National Funeral Home. Mrs. Brown died Friday, Sept. 9, at 4:45 p.m. in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Rebecca Stephens, in Oak Grove community. In addition to Mrs. Stephens, the deceased is survived by a son, Frank Brown of Natchitoches; three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Carpenter of Natchitoches, Mrs. Effie Boykin of Slidell, and Mrs. Dora Treadway of Provencal; two brothers, John Whatley of Coldwater, and Claude Whatley of Natchitoches; 13 grand children and ten great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were John K. Foster, Raymond Carpenter, DeWitt Williams, Douglas Russell, Lee Jordan, and George K. Roberts.
