Marie Dell Roubieu DeBlieux died Thursday, April 11, 2002, in her residence at Natchitoches. She was a native of Campti, but moved to Natchitoches at a very early age. Known to her many friends as "Miss Pat,' she was the daughter of Robert Buford Roubieu and Ophelia Prudhomme. She was born July 4, 1907. Miss Pat believed in love of life and never missed a chance to play bridge or go to a party. Stories about her humor are legendary. She was a devoted Catholic and a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, where she attended Mass on a daily basis. She was a founder of the Court Regina chapter of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, the Service League of Natchitoches and the Association for the Preservation of Historic Natchitoches. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jefferson Davis DeBlieux Jr.; her half sister, Fleta Rouieu; and her oldest and youngest sons, Jefferson Davis DeBlieux III of Houma and Victor Dale DeBlieux of Natchitoches. She is survived by her son, Robert Buford DeBlieux of Natchitoches; two daughters-in-law, Mary Lee DeBlieux of Houma and Patricia Green DeBlieux of Natchitoches; six grandchildren, Jeff DeBlieux IV and Jon Lee DeBlieux of Houma, Melissa DeBlieux Ward of St. Louis, Mo., Camille DeBlieux Davis and Dene' DeBlieux Mathis of Baton Rouge, and Tonya DeBlieux Ivey of Natchitoches; and 15 great-grandchildren.
