ANDY" HARGIS Alexandria Daily Town Talk, Wednesday, 15 May 1996, P. D-3, Column 2. Andrew Jackson "Mr. Andy" Hargis, age 98, died Monday in Natchitoches, La. He was a member of 1st United Methodist Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Foreign Legion, the Shriners and Eastern Star. Served as a school board member for 16 years, in the Tax Assessor's Office for 46 years, 26 as Chief Deputy and 20 as Natchitoches Parish Tax Assessor. He was also a veteran of World War I. Survivors: Daughter: Claire H. Greene of Natchitoches, La. Sons: Ray and Don E. Hargis, both of Natchitoches, La. Grandchildren, 10; Great-Grandchildren, 18. Services: Held at 11 am. Thursday in 1st United Methodist Church with Revs. Doug McCain and Ryan Horton officiating. Burial: Under direction of St. Denis-Blanchard Funeral Home of Natchitoches, La. in American Cemetery in Natchitoches.
