All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mr. Odis Hilliard Mr. Odis Hilliard, 75, of Pleasant Hill died Saturday, Oct. 18, at Huckabay Hospital in Coushatta, after a brief illness. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Ajax Cemetery in Ajax. The Rev. Azell Ott, Jr. officiated. Mr. Hilliard was born in Robeline. He was a retired oil field worker. He was also a member of the American Legion Hall Post #300 in Pleasant Hill. He spent three years in the U.S. Army. During that time, he was active in the World War II and received several medals, ribbons and stripes including the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal with three bronze stars, American Theater Campaign Medal Victory Ribbon, one service stripe and four overseas services bars. Survivors include one son, Dempsey Hilliard and wife, Rhonda of White Sulphur Springs, Mont.; two daughters, Deborah Copa and husband, Richard of Shreveport and Sue Jacobs and husband, Sidney of Pleasant Hill; a special friend, Alice Bruce of Pleasant Hill; one sister, Elmarie Early of Shreveport; five grandchildren, Lynn Hillard, Kami Dempsey, Sidney Jacobs II, Troy Copa and Andy Copa; five great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Stanley Walker, Mike Bruce, Doyle Stockton, Randy Friday, Joseph Free and Joe Bridges. Rose-Neath Many, La.
