Jones of Atwater, Calif., both former longtime residents of this area were killed Friday afternoon in an automobile accident in Atwater. A son, Gerald, 18, of Atwater, was injured in the crash, and is in fair condition at Castle Air Force Base Hospital near Atwater. Mrs. Jones, 42, the former Ellen Carnline, was born and reared in Robeline. Sgt. Jones, 44, was born in Monroe, but had lived in Shreveport since the age of three months. He was a graduate of Byrd High School, and was a veteran of World War II. He had completed three tours of duty in Vietnam. Both were Baptist. Mrs. Jones is survived by her mother, Mrs. Tom Carnline of Robeline; and her grandmother, Mrs. Julie Smith of Robeline.
