MILSTEAD Funeral services for James M. Milstead were held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday in Warren Meadows Funeral Chapel at Many with burial in the Cryer Cemetery near Leesville. Survivor are his widow; four sons, E.D. Milstead of Natchitoches, J.E. Milstead of Minden, W.W. Milstead and W.A. Milstead of Port Arthur, Tex; two daughters, Mrs. Ada Edwards and Mrs. Bertie Desadier, both of Natchitoches; one sister, Mrs. Henrietta Brown of Carthage, Tex.; 35 grand children and 36 great grand children. SOURCE: Natchitoches Times August 12, 1971 MATHILDA MILSTEAD Funeral services for Mrs. Mathilda B. Milstead, 94 were held Friday at 1 p.m. in Blanchard's Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. A.H. Hoffpauir officiated and burial was in Cryer Cemetery. Mrs. Milstead died Wednesday, Aug 4 in Natchitoches Parish Hospital. Survivors are four sons, Elmer Milstead of Spokane, Wash, Willie and Woodrow Milstead, both of Port Arthur, Tex and Edward Milstead of Natchitoches; two daughters, Mrs. Bertie Desadier and Mrs Ada Edwards, both of Natchitoches; 38 grand children, 124 great grand children, and 11 great great grand children. Pallbearers were Mitchell Edwards, Johnny Everett, Robert Guidry, Mike Brown, J.D. Milstead, and Dow Burney. ADDITIONAL NOTES: James and Matilda Milstead were married April 16, 1899 in Leesville, La.
