The deceased who was in the best of health died very suddenly while at work in his field. Shortly before his death he stopped work to speak to his three young children, who were fishing nearby and as he returned to his duties, he fell unconsciousness. His nine years old son rushed to his side but finding it impossible to arouse him, he left the younger children with their father and went to summon his mother and grandfather. All efforts to arouse him proved fruitless and he passed away without gaining consciousness The deceased was a good man and the son of a confederate soldier. His life was passed at is childhood home. His remains were laid to rest at a family burial ground near Vowels Mills. He leaves his wife, three children and many other relatives and friends to morn his loss. He is gone but not forgotten.
