J. D. McNeil officiating. Burial followed in the Lambertown Cemetery at Robeline. Mrs. Horn died Wednesday, November 29, 2000 in Natchitoches Parish Hospital. She was a native and life-long resident of Robeline, a member of Robeline United Pentecostal Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Danny Horn. Survivors include her husband, L. V. Horn of Robeline; one son, Bubby Horn of Natchitoches; one sister, Ora Bell Pleasant of Marthaville; one brother, Hershel Freeman of Robeline; one granddaughter, Debrah Strickland of Doyline; and six great grandchildren. December 2-3, 2000 issue MERLIN WALL A memorial service for Merlin Wall, 67, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 9 at Los Adaes Foundation Building (old Methodist Church) in Robeline with the Rev. Bob Salley officiating. Mr. Wall was born December 31, 1932 in Natchitoches. He died Tuesday, November 22, 2000 at Natchitoches Parish Hospital. He was retired and was a member of Marthaville First Baptist Church. Survivors include five brothers, Owen, Thelton, Harold, Wayne and Kenneth Wall. Box 33932, Shreveport, La. 71130. JIMMY COUTEE Services for Jimmy Coutee, 83, of Cloutierville will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 4 at St. John the Baptist Church in Cloutierville with Fr. Gerald Bordelon officiating. Burial will follow in Catholic Cemetery in Cloutierville under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Mr. Coutee died Wednesday, November 30, 2000 in Natchitoches Parish Hospital. He was a native of Cloutierville, a retired welder for Trailmobile in Chicago, Ill., and a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Cloutierville. Survivors include his wife, Josephine Coutee of Cloutierville; four sisters, Agnes Carpenter of Shreveport, Rosa Bayonne of Cloutierville, Annie Mae Coutee and Mary Culbert, both of Alexandria; an done brother, Wilson J. Coutee, of Natchitoches. Visitation will be Sunday, December 3 from 5-9 p.m. with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. SYLVAN R. SIBLEY Services for Sylvan R. Sibley, 68, of Natchitoches will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 4 in First Baptist Church with Dr. James Carter and Dr. Scott Shaver officiating. Burial will be in Memory Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Mr. Sibley died Thursday, November 30 in Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport. He was a native of Natchitoches and a retired purchasing agent for Northwestern State University. He was a CPM, a former member of the Louisiana Department of Highways Board from the 8th congressional District, a member of First Baptist Church in Natchitoches, Phoenix Masonic Lodge #38 F & AM, El Kaurubah Shrine Temple and Scottish Rite Shrine Temple, both in Shreveport. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U. S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Martha W. Sibley of Natchitoches; one son, Mike Sibley of Natchitoches; one daughter, Ellen Arnold of Boston, Mass.; four grandchildren, Carolyn Sibley and Michael Sibley Jr., both of Natchitoches; Amanda Arnold and Brian Arnold, both of Boston, Mass. Visitation will be Sunday, December 3 from 6-9 p.m. and on Monday, December 4 from 8-11 a.m. at the funeral home and from noon to service time at the church. December 5, 2000 issue FLORENCE GIBSON SCALLION Services for Florence Gibson Scallion, 89, of Goldonna were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 3 in Goldonna Assembly of God Church with the Revs. James Whitehead and Kerry McNorton officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery at Goldonna under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Mrs. Scallion died Friday, December 1, 2000 in Willis Knighton North Medical Center at Shreveport. She was a native of Goldonna, a retired private sitter and a member of Goldonna Assembly of God Church. Survivors include one son, W. O. Scallion of Goldonna; two daughters, Reba Jackson and Rita Sue Scallion, both of Natchitoches; one sister, Elizabeth Turner of Minden; seven grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Carlee Paul, Elton Monroe, John Turner, Rodney Hanson, Kenneth Gibson and James Earl Gibson. December 7, 2000 issue ALFRED PERRY LEON Services for Alfred Perry Leon Sr. of Natchitoches were held on November 21, 2000 at Asbury United Methodist Church on Fifth Street at 11 a.m. with the Rev. James A. Graham officiating. Burial followed in the Lawrence Serenity Sanctum in Natchitoches. Alfred "A. P." Leon Sr. passed on Wednesday, November 15 in Christus Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport. He was a native of Natchitoches. Mr. Leon retired from Northwestern State University after 30 years of service after working as a chemical stock clerk. He was preceded in death by a son, Alfred (Peter) Leon Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory; a loving and devoted wife, Annie B. Wilton Leon; two daughters, Annette Leon Boyd of Los Angeles and Cheryl Leon Remo of Natchitoches; four sons, Jerry G. Leon of Los Angeles, Alton W. Leon of Natchitoches, Henry D. Leon of Tolsa, Okla., and Alvin K. Leon of Natchitoches; one sister Gladys Leon Bloodworth of Los Angeles; four brothers, Rudolph Leon Jr. of Natchitoches, Vernon P. Leon of Los Angeles, Charles N. Leon Sr. of Jonesboro, Willard K. Leon of Seymore, Tenn.; 15 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, in-laws and friends. John Foster officiating under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home of Natchitoches. Mrs. Grigsby died Wednesday, December 6, 2000 in Marshall Manor Nursing Home in Marshall, Texas. Mrs. Grigsby was a native of Clarence. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Natchitoches. She was preceded in death by her husband, Randel Lee Grigsby Sr. Survivors include two sons, Randel L. Grigsby Jr. of Shreveport and Wayne Grigsby of Longview, Texas; one daughter, Martha LaCaze of Natchitoches; two sisters, Ola Gobert of Galveston, Texas, and Elnora Desadier of Minden; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. HAZEL ENGLAND NELSON Memorial graveside services for Hazel England Nelson, 72, of Robeline, were held at 1 p.m. Friday, December 8 in Lambertown Cemetery at Robeline with the Rev. Jack Mills officiating. They were under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Mrs. Nelson died Tuesday, December 5, 2000 in Natchitoches Parish Hospital Long Term Care Unit in Natchitoches. Mrs. Nelson was a native of Alexandria. She was a homemaker and was a member of Old Bethel Baptist church in Natchitoches. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bo Nelson. Survivors include one son, Troy Jackson and his wife, Vickie of Robeline; one daughter, Martha J. Holland and her husband, Cecil of Robeline; one sister and two brothers; three grandchildren, Nora Holland, Tiffany Jackson and Dewel Holland, all of Robeline. December 30-31, 2000 issue SAMUEL HOUSTON CADE SR. Services for Samuel Houston Cade Sr., 90, of Natchitoches were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2000 in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home in Natchitoches. Mr. Cade died Saturday, December 23, 2000 in his residence. He was a resident of Natchitoches for 55 years, a successful pulpwood dealer for 50 years and a member of First Baptist Church for 37 years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 50 years, past president of the Pulpwood Dealers Insurance Co., a member of the Louisiana Forestry Association and an avid hunter and fisherman. Mr. Cade was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Samuel Coleman and Annie Addison Cade; two brothers, Howell Addison Cade and Ensign Nash Columbus Cade; and two sisters, Annie Laurie Cade Smith and Marguerite Cade McDothe. Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Elsie Doyce Cade of Natchitoches; two sisters, Vicky Fisher and her husband, Clarence and Emmaline Luttrell, both of Bossier City; two sons, Dr. Samuel Houston Cade Jr. and wife Susan of Frisco, Texas, and James Coleman Cade Sr. and wife Ann of Natchitoches; six grandchildren, Brian Cade and wife Judy of Plano, Texas, Jeff Cade and wife Kelly of Paris, Texas, Angela Cade Deaton and husband Ray of Frisco, Texas, Debra Cade Vienne and husband Scott of Natchitoches, James Coleman Cade Jr. and fiancee Leanne Swafford of Natchitoches, and Kurt Samuel Cade and fiancee Sara Shirey of Natchitoches; and nine great-grandchildren, Laura Cade, David Cade, Katie Cade, Michael Cade, Josie Cade, Jake Deaton, Amaris Deaton, Hunter Vienne and Austin Vienne. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Brian Cade, Jeff Cade, Ray Deaton, James Cade Jr., Kurt Cade and Scott Vienne.
