Doris Sheppard officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Mansfield. Bacon, 13 days old, died Thursday, January 17, 2002, in Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Survivors include his parents, Jeanie and Brent Bacon of Natchitoches; a brother, Kenneth Bacon, of Natchitoches; maternal grandparents Sam and Kathy Bell of Carmel; and paternal grandparents Bill and Barbara Bacon of Rapid City, S. D. LAWRENCE RICHARD "SAMBO" LEMOINE Services for Mr. Lawrence Richard "Sambo" Lemoine were held Monday, January 21, 2002 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Bro. Douglas Freeman officiating. Interment followed in Rocky Mount Cemetery in Robeline under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Mr. Lemoine died Saturday, January 19, 2002, at LSU Medical Center in Shreveport. He was a native of Campti and a resident of Robeline. He was an operator in the pipeline field. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Sherry L. Lemoine; two sons, Wad Lemoine and wife, Lisa, and Tracey Lemoine and wife, Kristina; one daughter, Frances Oine Cedars, and husband, Sam, all of Robeline; four grandchildren; one sister, Jan Hamous of Eunice; and one brother, Don Lemoine, of Mt. Olive, Miss. MARY GERTRUDE GIBSON Graveside services for Mary Gertrude Gibson, 95, of Goldonna were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2002 in Goldonna Cemetery with the Rev. Doyle Bailey officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Mrs. Gibson died Thursday, January 17, 2002 in IHS Nursing Home in Shreveport. JOHN THOMAS "JOHNNIE" WHITE Services for John Thomas "Johnnie" White, 88, of Cloutierville were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2002 in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Cloutierville with Fr. Gerald Bordelon officiating. Burial was in Catholic Cemetery in Cloutierville under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Mr. White died Thursday, January 17, 2002, in Natchitoches Parish Hospital. January 16, 2002 Issue JOAN JARRATT SCOGIN JoAn Jarratt Scogin, 67, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., died Wednesday, January 9, 2002 at National Park Medical Center in Hot Springs, Ark. She was born February 10, 1934 in Warren, Ark., the daughter of the late Henry Clay Jarratt and Alma B. Mannes Jarratt. She was the widow of H. David Scogin, who preceded her in death on May 23, 2001. She graduated from Warren High School and King's Daughters School of Nursing in Greenville, Miss. She was director of nurses at Bradley County Medical Center in Warren and worked in home health in Natchitoches. She also owned and operated Kiddie Kollege in Natchitoches. She was a member of Balboa Baptist Church in Hot Springs Village. Survivors include one sister, Frances Jarratt Murry of Warren; a nephew, Don Murry of Asheboro, N. C.; a great niece, Leslie Scott of Clayton, N. C.; a great nephew, Barry Murry of North Borough, Maine; and two godchildren, Kelly Ford of Little Rock and Kris Prince of Houston, Texas. January 31, 2002 issue JOHN BREWER Services for John Brewer, 70, of Natchitoches will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February 1 in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with the Rev. Lindle Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Natchitoches. Mr. Brewer died Monday, January 28, 2002 in Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria. He was a native of Walthall County, Miss. He was a retired veteran of the U. S. Air Force having served 22 1/2 years at the rank of tech. Sergeant. He also retired from Willamette Industries with 23 1/2 years service. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Arnie Brewer, Williard Brewer, Monroe Brewer and Billy Brewer. Survivors include his wife, Vera Thomas Brewer of Natchitoches; one son, John Dave Brewer of Gonzales; three daughters, Kayla Litton and her husband, Donnie, of Houma, Kathy Armstrong and her husband, Evan of Waco, Texas and Jennifer Stephens and her husband, James, of Natchitoches; seven sisters Tracy Stansell and Pauline Sillinger, both of Baton Rouge, Dewilla Cooter and Dorothy Miller, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; Fannie Fortenberry of Grand Bay, Ala., Wanzie Wheeler of Center, Texas and Carol Grammer of Longview, Texas; two brothers, Brian Brewer of Grand Bay, Ala.; and Millard Brewer of Baton Rouge; and three grandchildren, Sean Brewer, Jacob Litton and Lydia Litton; two great grandchildren, Sean Brewer and Dallas Brewer. Pallbearers will be Matthew Braxton, Bo Raynes, Reuben Burns, Hubert Wilkerson, Arnie Patterson, Charlie Davis, Daniel Sanders and Kent Wilkerson. Visitation will be Thursday, January 31 from 5-9 p.m. and on Friday, February 1 from 8 a.m. to service time at the funeral home. GERTRUDE K. WARREN Funeral services for Gertrude K. Warren, 86, of Natchitoches will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, February 1 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home chapel in Natchitoches. Burial will follow in Fern Park Cemetery under the direction of Blanchard-St. Denis. Ms. Warren died Wednesday, January 30, 2002, in Natchitoches. She was a school teacher. Visitation will be Friday from 11:30 a.m. to service time.
