C. Percy and her many friends were shocked to learn of Mr. Percy's death. News of which reached here by cablegram on Tuesday from Central America, where Mr. Percy had been traveling for years. None of the details of his death were learned and the news was a great surprise as he enjoyed usually good health and was alright when last heard from. The State has the following to say: Announcement of the death in Guatemala City of W. C. Percy former State Senator from West Feliciana, a one time District Attorney. was received here Tuesday night. Mr. Percy was traveling in the Latin American country. He was in excellent health when last seen at home and relatives are unable to account at the time for his sudden death. Mr. Percy is survived by a brother, Edward Percy who lives in West Feliciana and by a widow and one daughter in Natchitoches. News of the death was communicated to them Tuesday W. C. Percy served one term in the Senate succeeding R. E. Erwin of Clinton. Prior to that he was district attorney of West Feliciana and prominent in the practice of law. After his legislative service, Mr. Percy moved to Webster Parish establishing himself in Minden where he practiced law for some time. He was several years ago elected President of the Louisiana Homestead League and served with distinction. During recent years Mr. Percy took to the road and has specialized on South American trade. He was 47 years old. The daughter by a former marriage in not here.
