JOHN L. PLEASANT SR.
Alexandria Daily Town Talk, May 31, 1998

Services for John L. Pleasant Sr. will be at 1:30 p.m. today in the chapel of
Hixson Bros., Pineville, with the Revs. Carl Burris, Jo Sharp and Ellis Hines
officiating. Burial will be in Galbraith Cemetery, Lena. 

Pleasant, 77, of Lena died Saturday, May 30, 1998, in Rapides General
Hospital. He was a member of Sharp Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran
of World War II, a retired painter, and a school bus driver. Survivors include
his wife, Avis Hodges Pleasant of Lena; one son, John Pleasant Jr. of Lena;
one daughter, Judy Cyphert of Alexandria; two half brothers, Jim Hardee of
Alexandria and Lester Hardee of Gulfport, Miss.; five grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 8 a.m. until time of services today
in the funeral home................
