Smith Mr. Alexander James "A. J." Smith, 84, of Robeline died Sunday, Jan. 18 at Columbia Highland Hospital in Shreveport. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21 at the Chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis in Natchitoches. The Rev. Ed E. Holton, the Rev. George Albritton and the Rev. Don Davis will officiate. Mr. Smith was a native of Robeline. He was a retired brand inspector for the state of La., a U. S. Navy veteran of WWII and served nine years as a Chief Petty Officer. He was a member of Robeline Baptist Church and a member of Robeline Masonic Lodge with 50 years of service, and a lifetime member of the V. F. W. and American Legion. He was also a member and served on the board of the Los Adaes Foundation. Survivors include his widow, Audie Fife Smith of Robeline; one son, Sonny Weeks of Robeline; one daughter, Daphana McAllen of Waco, Texas; three sisters, Marie Smith Kelso, of Hitchcock, Texas, Jimmie Ethel Smith Vaught of Orlando, Fla., Carol Lynn Smith Sandifer of West Texas and Mary Elizabeth Smith Carr of Bryan, Texas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
