To the Memoray of Mrs. J. B. Trezzini. Died, on Friday the 20th of July, at half past nine o'clock P.M., of dropsy, at the residence of L. N. Deblieux, Mrs. Arthemise Trezzini, aged 63 years and 5 months. She was a native of this parish. She is dead! Yes, the friend, who was with us but yesterday, her kind loving voice we will hear no more. She passed off from her couch of terrible suffering as quietly as angels whisper. She was for the last twelve months a most terrible sufferer from that devouring disease, dropsy. And during those months of pain she bravely supported tapping, eleven times. All her sufferings were borne as patiently as a Saint. I can say and speak truly, that I never heard her exclaim, or murmur against fate; although a constant sufferer. She was cheerful, patient, kind and even thoughtful of others, in their troubles and misfortunes. She was one of the few that I ever knew, that was faultless, ever charitable, kind and polite to all. She was the sister of charity to the needy and suffering. Oh! how many will miss her tender touch and benevolent [unable to read next word] in the hour of trial and disease. Dear friend, death has been generous to thee, HE waited 'till her limbs were old And her jetty locks grew grey, And oh! while young and beautiful Upon old earth she stayed. And now she is gone to watch over you in heaven as she did on earth. Weep not friends, for your sainted mother, your loss is her great gain, lets try to imitate her patient suffering on earth so as to be able to meet her in that happy home, where no sighs are heard, or clouds are seen; try and be ready to meet death's call, we know when the warm Spring, will return and the glimmering star will shine. But the hour when death will come to shrowd [sic] us for the tomb? Oh! who can tell; an echo answers who! A FRIEND. August 1, 1866.
