Smith, Pastor - Officiating When I Must Leave You When I must leave you for a little while, Please do not greive and shed wild tears, And hug your sorrow to you through the years . But start out bravely with a gallant smile And for my sake in my name, Live on and do all things the same. Feed not your loneliness on empty days, But fill each waking hour in useful ways. Reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer, And I in turn will hold you near. And never, never be afraid to die, For I am waiting for you in the sky. Obituary Mr. Willie Lee VAUGHN was born March 24, 1919 to the union of Mr. L.A. and Luevenia VAUGHN in Campti, Louisiana. At an early age the family moved to Wiletka, Oklahoma where he attended public school. After leaving Oklahoma at a young age, he came to Dallas, Texas to live with his Aunt. Later he was drafted into the United States Army and served three years and was honorably discharged. Later he was joined in holy matrimony with Gladys WILSON and united with Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church to be in membership with his wife where they both have served with the various choirs. He was employed by Oak Farm Daires where he worked for several years; then later in the fiftes he went to work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, serving for over 30 years and then retired. After a breif illness Bro. VAUGHN passed away on May 2, 1987 at 8:30 a.m. Leaving to cherish his memories ; wife, Mrs. Gladys VAUGHN; five children all of Dallas, Texas , three brothers Ollie D. VAUGHN of Omaha, Nebraska, L.A. VAUGHN of Los Angeles, California, Nathaniel VAUGHN of Dallas, Texas ; sisters Eula NEWTE of Omaha, Nebraska Veoria, Vettea, Vivian, Martha and Rachel all of Los Angeles, California: seven grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and friends .
