Woods Sr., 74, of Shreveport, were held at 9 a.m., Wednesday, in Wellman's Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the Beulah Cemetery, at Marthaville Mr. Woods, a resident of Shreveport for the past 20 years, was a native of Marthaville. He died Monday, in Confederate Memorial Hospital, after a sudden illness. He was a retired city employee. Mr. Woods was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Officiating in services was the Rev. Step Martin, church pastor. Survivors include his widow; seven sons; Alva A. Woods of Nash. Tex., Troyce Woods of Longview, Tex., Clifton M. Woods, Jr. of Bossier City, Bobby D. Woods of Ruston, William Terry Woods of Houston, Ralph A. Woods of Spokane, Wash., and Jimmy D. Woods of Bloomington, Inc.; three daughters, Eloise Sandifer of Shreveport, Mary Jane Hood of Houston, Julia Fay Davidson of Texas City, Tex.; three brothers, J. C. Woods and D. C. Woods, both of Shreveport, and Otho Woods of Pleasant Hill; three sisters, Effie Carter of Rosepine, Jessie J. Todd of Shreport, and Bertha Reed of Pleasant Hill, 28 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jo Cocker, Dennis Sandifer, Deland Woods, Johnny Hood, Phillip Steadmen, and Billy Raines.
