D. Cailleau Lafontaine, Judge of the Parish of Natchitoches, in the State of Louisiana, and acting as Notary Public in officio for & in the Parish aforesaid, was present Micha‰l Quinn, domiciled in this Parish of Natchitoches, a native of Ireland, of the one part; and Sarah Sheridan, domiciled also in the Parish aforesaid, born in the State of Kentucky in the United States, of the other part; the said Micha‰l Quinn & Sarah Sheridan have agreed, as follows, the civil clauses & conditions of their future marriage, which will be celebrated agreeable to law, at the first request of one of the parties. Ast --1st from this day there will be community of estate, real & personal between them. Ast -- 2nd they acknowledge by these presents that whatever Estate, personal or real, each of them possess now, under whatsoever bible belongs to the Community & has been assigned by their common and joint inventory, their debts, mortgages & other charges are also common & will be paid & exonerated out of the funds belonging to the said community. Ast -- 3d the parties do acknowledge as legitimate by these presents, two children they have had together previous to their marriage, viz, their daughter Mary-Ann, born the fifth day of May one thousand and eight hundred and fourteen, & also their son named Charles born the twenty fifth day of November one thousand eight hundred and fifteen -- Created at my office, in the Parish of Natchitoches this nineteenth day of January in the year of our Lord eighteen Hundred and eighteen in presence of John Sibley & Samuel Davenport subscribing witnesses, who have hereunto subscribed their names with the parties & me the undersigned Judge after reading.
