Clements, of the insurance firm of Clements & Bros., was born in New Orleans in 1849. He received his education in the public schools in this city. He was for several years on the road as traveling solicitor for a stationery establishment of New Orleans. Sometime since he came to Opelousas where he associated himself in the insurance business with Judge Morris; and upon his death he continued the business in his own name. He represents the following well-known companies: Liverpool, London and Globe Insurance Company, Mechanics and Traders Insurance Company, Sun Mutual, St. Paul, Security, and other companies. He married Nina, the accomplished daughter of T. H. Lewis, of Opelousas. To them have been born four children, Henry, Florence, Lilian and Ethel.
