A. Duvigneaud, has been successful in his enterprises and is recognized as a man of great firmness of character and strict integrity in all his business transactions. A son of L. A. Duvigneaud, he was born in the Crescent city in 1840, and it was there his early boyhood was spent and his education acquired in private English schools. His first effort to make his own way in the world was as a clerk, but on the 12th of January, 1871, he received the appointment of inspector of weights and measures, his duties being discharged in a most efficient and praiseworthy manner. He is industrious, upright in all his dealings, and liberal in the use of his means to further any cause for the good of his native city. In 1866 he was united in marriage, and his union has resulted in the birth of four children. The maiden name of his mother was Maria Andre, a lady of culture and refinement.
