Favrot is a member of the firm of Duval & Favrot, prominent architects of New Orleans, La., who established their business in May, 1890. He was born in West Baton Rouge parish, La., as was also his father, Col. H. M. Favrot, and his grandfather, Louis Favrot. The father was colonel of the Fourth Louisiana regiment, confederate army, during the Civil war [see sketch of H. L. Favrot]. Charles A. Favrot was born in 1866 and in 1884 graduated from the university at Baton Rouge, taking a post-graduate course the following year. The following four years he was in the office of James Freret, one of the oldest architects of New Orleans, and subsequently attended Cornell university, New York state, finishing his course in architecture in 1889. After this he worked in Rochester, New York, for a number of months, and then entered the present company with S. R. Duval. They are highly regarded in the community for their ability and integrity, as they always secure to owners the best results within the limit of estimates. Mr. Favrot is a member of the Young Men's Catholic club. Chess, Checker and Whist club, Young Men's Gymnastic club and others. He was married in .January, 1891, to Miss Beatrice Freret, daughter of James Freret, the architect. In politics Mr. Favrot affiliates with the democratic party.
