All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http:/www.usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************ United States of America - - State of Louisiana (76) Second District Court for the Parish of Orleans Oath of Applicant New Orleans, August 9th, 1882 On this Day Personally Appeared Augustine Todesky who being duly sworn, deposes and said: I reside in New Orleans, on St. Peter Street - No 55 (scratched out) between Marais and Villere Street; I was born in Italy, County _________, on ? of April, 1861 and therefore now twenty one years of age, I have continually resided within the limits and jurisdiction of the United States of America, for more than five years last past, to wit: since the ________ day of January, 1877. I made my declaration of intention to become a citizen of the United States of American on the ____ day of ____ 18___ (line scratched out) I have resided for one year at lest within the limits of the State of Louisiana, to wit: at New Orleans since the ____day of January 1877 during the whole of which said time behaved myself as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States of America, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same. I have never borne any Hereditary Title or been of any order of Nobility, whatsoever, and I Augustine Todesky DO SOLEMNY SWEAR, I do now absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to every foreigh Prince, Potentate, State or Sovereignty whatever, particularly to the Kingdom of Italy to whom I have hitherto owed allegiance; and that I will, to the best of my ability, support the Constitution of the United States of America. Trepani who being duly sworn, severally depose and say, that they are Citizens of the United States of America. That the reside in the City of New Orleans, the first named, on St. Peter Street No 170 between St. Claude and Treme?? and second, on Corner St. Claude - Street number scratched out - and St. Peter Street, that they have known Augustine Todesky the Applicant for Admission as Citizen of the United States, for more than five years last past, during which time he has continually resided within the limits and jurisdiction of the United States of America, to-wit: (New Orleans) that for the last year, at least he has resided within the State of Louisiana, to-wit (New Orleans) that during the whole of the sid time he has behaved himself as a man of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constiutution of the United States of America, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the same; and that, and so far as affiants are able to say, he has not orne any Hereditary Title, or been of any Orders of Nobility whatsoever.
