Be it known that on this Fourth day of the month of December in the year of Lord one thousand eight hundred and fifty four, and in the Seventy month of the Independence of the United States of America - Before me, Charles SarBidoyne Kernion, a notary public in and for the Parish of Orleans, State of Louisiana, United States of America, duly commissioned and Sworn, dwelling and practicing in this City of New Orleans, and in the presence of the Witness hereinafter named - Personally came and appeared, Thomas J. Pipkin Esquire, a resident of this city of New Orleans, and herein acting for himself and in his own individual name as one of the heirs of the late Mistress Lucy Brantly, his grandmother, deceased widow and relict of the late Arthur Suter of Northampton County, in the State of North Carolina - who declared that he had made, ordained, nominated, authorized constituted and appointed and does by their presents make, ordain, nominate, authorize, constitute and appoint, and in his place and Stead, ___ and put Edward Isaac Pipkin Esquire, his brother, a resident of Madison County, in the State of Mississippi to be his true and lawful Attorney in fact, general and special, giving and by these presents granting unto the said Attorney full power and absolute Authority, to represent his person, and for him and in his name, and to and for his use, behoof and advantage and on his belalf, to ask, demand, have, take, moreover and receive of and from all and every person or persons, heirs, executor, administration or assigns, or of and from whomsoever __ it doth, shall or may concern, all inheritances, monies, property, legacies, bequests, shares, interests, claims and demand that have any ways by testaments, last will, inheritance, succession, codicil or otherwise, have made, given, left, bequeathed or coming, falling and desolving to him in the Estate affors'd, Succession and property of the said late Mistress Widow Suter, his grandmother, deceased; And for all what shall be received, collected and recovered, proper receipts, acquaintances, releases and discharges for the same or any part thereof, for him and in his name, to give grant sign and execute and make: And further, also to inspect, examine and ___ all Wills testaments and codicil, also to administer, and all Books, account and writings to settle and liquidate, and, if reqired, any suit or suits, at law or equity to bring and institute and for that purpose, to appear before all Judges, Justices or ___ of the state and as the can shall in may require, then to proceed against all those whom it shall or may concern, and to seize request and attach in prison and condemn, and out of prison aquire to deliver, giving and by these presents, grant unto said attorney full power and authority, for him and in his name, to enter into Sign, Seal and execute all agreements arrangements or other acts required in the premisis And Generally, to do and perform all and every other act, matter and things as shall or may maybe requisite and necessary to be done and performed for the better and more effectual ___ and obtaining of his right, portion, share, interest and claims in the Estate aforesaid of his grandmother in as full and ample manner as he might or could do if personally present, with full power of Substitution and revocation, hereby promises and binding himself to reatify and confirm and hold for good and valid, all and whatsoever the said attorney shall do or cause to be done in the premisis under the letter of Attorney Thus done and Passed in Duplicate, in my office at the said city of New Orleans, on the day, month and year first above written in the presence of Mess.
