My trip to Nassau was delayed owing to the yellow fever in New Orleans all was quarantined. David Millard brought me your letter as soon as I arrived in Nassau and I assure you dear Cousin I was more than delighted. Papa was also very glad and proud to receive a letter from you. I do wish you were here. Nassau is a perfect "paradise". I have not had One dull moment since my arrival here. All your relations here are very well and send fondest love to you and all. I came by way of Key West to Nassau and I had the pleasure of meeting Your mother and two step-brothers. Your mother was very well except her eyes are failing her very much. Walter is unmarried; he keeps his dear old mother. Robert is married to a very sweet girl named Agnes. They live like two doves. Your mother asked me when I wrote to you to give her love to you and your family and she says for you to be sure to write. Her address Mrs Pinder, Davison Street, Key West, Florida. Papa and Mamma send fondest love to you and your family. Papa has three daughters and five sons. We are all grown up. Mamma's trouble of children is almost over. The boys according to ages are Benjamin - 28 years, Samuel - 20, George - 18, Charles -17, Walter - 15, and the girls are Maria - 29 years, Katherine - 25, Margaret J - 21. None of the boys are married but my two sisters have been married a Number of years. Maria is married to Dr Henry G. Patterson of Philadelphia and Katherine is married to Captain Theodore Smith of New Orleans. Papa's whole family is real well and we are all happy and we are thankful to God for both. Maria has one little baby girl called Isabella Innes Patterson and Katherine has three daughters Dorothea Thompson Smith, Katherine, Theodora. The four baby girls dear Cousin Elvin are the sweetest little things on earth. Papa says to tell you he doubts of being able to discover any clues to Your father's relatives. Your brother Charlie Millard sends his love to you. Cousin Elvin, when Your write David again tease him about a girl called Pearl. Uncle John says he will write next steamer. Give your dear wife and children my dearest love. I will send my photo the beginning of next week; it might reach you on the same mail as the letter. I will also write Maud in the mail I send the photo.
