Powers of Attorneys for Collection of Moneys for Services Rendered as 
Militimen, Vol. 2, December 1977

Received of Joseph Dios eighteen powers of atorneys (sic) for collection 
of moneys (sic) due those from the Government of the United States for 
services rendered as Militimen, the names here written:

The above mentioned eighteen names is those which I have received powers 
for collection from Joseph Dios, Junior for which I will use every 
indever (sic) to collect and make true returns given under my hand 
August the 24th - 1817.

I am well acquainted with Capt. William Watson and his hand writing and
know he signed this written paper these men were under his command at 
New Orleans.  I have heard him and the late Major L.H. Moore declare the 
fact fifty times as they were all my neighbours and have been at my house 
often together.
