A 68-year-old woman died at 1 p.m. Sunday in Charity hospital following
injuries suffered in an automobile accident Friday. The Coroner's office
identified her as Mrs Odile Fucich, 1803 Ursuline. Her death brings to 47 the
total number of motor vehicle traffic accident fatalities in New Orleans since
Jan. 1. Police records disclosed that Mrs. Fucich was struck by a car as she
was walking across N. Claiborne near the intersection of Ursuline shortly
before 8 a.m. Friday Police identified the driver of the car as Alvin Nores,
27, 2105 Columbus. Investigating officers gave him a violation ticket for
having no brake tag and submitted the case to the district attorney's office.
