Lee is charged with petit larceny. Tuesday morning he was employed by the sheriff to do some scrubbing. While at work he espied a double-case gold watch, which he pocketed and make off. He boarded the schooner Rosa A., which left Covington Tuesday evening bound for New Orleans. The local detective office was informed of the theft, and when the schooner landed yesterday morning the thief was arrested. Lee confessed that he stole the timepiece and said that he sold it to a man in Covington for $1.50. The Covington Authorities were notified of the capture.
