The harvest on the Eastern Short of Maryland has commenced.
There is no complaint of rust, and the grain of the wheat is
said to be beautiful.  The wheat, however, has been much beaten
down by the last rains, and fears are entertained that much of
it will be lost from the impossibility of cutting it.
