He was 72. Mr. Humphreys was born in Sperry, Okla., and lived in New Orleans since 1952. He attended Oklahoma Military Academy and graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree. He was a former general partner with Andar Oil Co., former vice president and manager of the energy department of Hibernia National Bank, former executive vice president of Exchange Oil & Gas Corp., and retired president and chief executive officer of Beaucoup Oil & Gas Corp. He was former vice president and a board member of the New Orleans Landmen's Association, former board member of the Petroleum Club of New Orleans, former president and board member of the Metairie Country Club, former member of the executive committee of the Mid-Continent Oil & Gas Association, former member of the executive committee of the University of Oklahoma Foundation, former district treasurer of the New Orleans Area Methodist Church, and former treasurer and board member of Munholland United Methodist Church. He was a veteran of the Army Air Force. Survivors include his wife, Ann Crisler Dampeer Humphreys; three sons, Buel Hall Humphreys III, Dwight-Walker Humphreys and David Dampeer Humphreys; a daughter, Carol Lynn Humphreys; and a sister, Julia Ann Humphreys Newton. A funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Munholland United Methodist Church, 1201 Metairie Road. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Crystal Springs Cemetery in Crystal Springs, Miss.
