Mmahat, a former president of gulf federal savings and loan, died thursday of leukemia at the university of kentucky medical center. He was 67. Mr. Mmahat was born in new orleans and lived in jefferson parish for the past 31 years. He was a graduate of st. Aloysius high school and attended tulane university. He was a member of the krewe of atlas, the charles carroll chapter of the knights of columbus and the fairway golf club at city park. He was a former chairman of the foundation board of east jefferson general hospital and a former director of the southeast louisiana chapter of the american red cross. He was the recipient of the great gentleman award given by east jefferson general hospital, the human institute of understanding award and the st. Elizabeth award. Survivors include his wife, elaine laurent mmahat; two sons, kevin p. And bryan j. Mmahat; two brothers, john a. And roger p. Mmahat; and a grandchild. A mass will be said monday at 11 a.M. At lamana-panno-fallo funeral home, 1717 veterans memorial blvd. Visitation will be today from 6 to 10 p.M. And monday beginning at 9 a.M. Burial will be in lakelawn park cemetery.
