A 45-year-old Boothville man was killed Saturday evening while trying to walk
across Belle Chasse Highway.

Dwight Taylor died at Plaquemines Hospital at 8:25 p.m., an hour after being
struck by a Dodge Dynasty driven by Carl Stewart, 69, also of Boothville,
authorities said.

Taylor was walking from the eastbound to the westbound side of the highway near
Whitney Lane when the accident occurred. Police are still investigating and no
charges have been filed against Stewart.
