The cause of death is undetermined. Homicide has not been ruled out, the coroner's office said. Police believe arsonists set the fire that engulfed Twilbeck's van on Almonaster Extension Avenue, 300 feet east of Elaine Street Feb. 8. Twilbeck's body was found in the front seat. The coroner's office confirmed his identity with help from forensic odontologist Ronald Carr of the Louisiana State University Dental School, who used dental charts supplied by Twilbeck's family. The coroner's office X-rayed the body and could find no bullets. But X-rays would not show if a bullet had passed through the body, Coroner Frank Minyard said. Nor would they show if Twilbeck had been stabbed. The coroner's office said it could not tell if Twilbeck was dead before the fire.
