All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************ George Louis Gallegos, an electronics engineer and founder of Sound-Page Inc. and Network Surveillance and Security Inc., died Tuesday of cancer at his home in New Orleans. He was 65. Mr. Gallegos was born in Houston and lived in New Orleans most of his life. He enlisted in the Merchant Marine and later was drafted into the Army. In 1978 he was awarded a patent for a verbal alarm system for use in high-rise buildings. In 1988 his work was the subject of an article in Sound and Communications Magazine. Mr. Gallegos was a member of Your Metropolitan Business and Civic Club, formerly known as the Young Men's Business Club of Greater New Orleans. His two firms remain members of the NSCA, ASIS, ISC, CEDIA and InfoComm and are registered with the State Licensing Board for Contractors. He was a parishioner of St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Amanda E. Anthony Gallegos; a son, George L. Gallegos Jr.; a brother, Robert Gallegos; and three sisters, Minerva Villagomez, Linda Rodriguez and Yolanda Lorio. A Mass will be said today at noon at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will be in All Saints Mausoleum in Metairie Cemetery. Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
