Motorcyclist dies days after wreck

A Metairie man died Saturday, six days after he reportedly 
was injured in a motorcycle accident in eastern New Orleans, 
the Orleans Parish coroner's office said. 

John Milliet III, 45, was taken to NorthShore Regional Medical 
Center on April 29 about 3 p.m., chief coroner's investigator 
John Gagliano said.

The hospital reported that Milliet had been injured in a motorcycle 
accident on U.S. 90 between Chef Pass and the Rigolets, Gagliano said. 
So far as is known, no other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Milliet died Saturday at 2:32 p.m. 



Slidell man dies after Rigolets crash

A Slidell man injured last month in a motorcycle accident on U.S. 90 
near the Rigolets died Monday, the Orleans Parish coroner's office said. 

Walter Brunner, 58, was the second motorcycle rider to die this month 
after being injured in April on the same stretch of U.S. 90 between the 
Rigolets and Chef Pass in eastern New Orleans, said chief coroner's 
investigator John Gagliano.

Brunner and John Milliet III, 45, of Metairie, both died at NorthShore 
Regional Medical Center after being injured nine days apart.

Brunner died Monday at 11:55 a.m. He was injured April 21 around midday.

Milliet died Saturday after being injured the afternoon of April 29, 
Gagliano said.
