She was out in the storm, and has been getting home ever since. She is a mere wreck, the shell of a boat, half full of water, and dependent upon an improvised mast and some borrowed rigging to make her way. She came in towed by the schooner Salvator Russo. There had been a crew of four on board. Out of that number one only survived the storm.. That was Captain Dominic Amato. All the others were lost – Ignacio Vivilaco, Joe Ballota and Camille Schinegado. The crew of the schooner Salvador Russo say that they found four corpses at Three Mile bayou, which they buried. They were all so swollen and discolored that recognition was impossible, but it is thought that among them were some of the crew of the Bartolo Apostolo.
