Marullo is an ex-policeman, and lives at 1406 Howard Street. Corso was standing near when he heard Marullo ask Annie, 18, and Celina, 14, his daughters, and Mary Formosa, his young niece, to take a ride. The girls told Corso they were afraid of Marullo. Corso walked over to Marullo and opened the fight by striking him with his fist. Officers arrested both of them instantly. The affair took place in the center of a big crowd at the Italian festival. Marullo says he was operating an auto for pleasure riding, as one of the concessions, and denies having annoyed the girls. He asked for an affidavit
