All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************ Pamela Ann Wegmann, a consultant who founded her own marketing and business-research firm, died of cancer Saturday at her River Ridge home. She was 59. A lifelong New Orleanian, Ms. Wegmann graduated from the University of New Orleans and taught at West Jefferson High School before becoming a lobbyist and organizer for the Louisiana Federation of Teachers and, in 1982, an executive with Lexis/Nexis. In 1994, she founded Information Matters, a marketing and business research, analysis and consulting firm. Five years later, the Chamber of Commerce named the company one of its Rising Tide Small Businesses of the Year. Ms. Wegmann was honored by New Orleans CityBusiness, the state Department of Economic Development and the federal Small Business Administration. She also was a former president of the Women's Professional Council and the International Association of Independent Information rofessionals, and she was on the board of the Jefferson Chamber of Commerce. She also enjoyed gardening. After Hurricane Katrina ravaged the grounds of Lakeview Presbyterian Church, where she was a member, Ms. Wegmann helped redesign and maintain the new layout. The church's Meditation Garden has been named in her honor. Survivors include her husband, Robert Johnston; a daughter, Kaitlyn Johnson; a stepson, Nicolas Johnston; and a sister, Peggy Wegmann Benson. A funeral was held Wednesday at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home. Burial was in All Saints Mausoleum.
