All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ************************************************ A grocer named Augustine Russo, doing business at No. 1200 St. Peter Street, reported to the police that on last Tuesday a negro named Achille Landry, who formerly worked for him and two unknown negroes broke into the store and stole a gold watch and chain, tow gold rings and $40.00 in cash. Russo said he was about a block away when he waw the negroes leaving and gave chase, but they escaped. The negro, Landry, was taken in charge by the police, and Russo was sent for to identify him. When he saw the negro he withdrew the complaint and refused to make a charge.
