The Hannibal Journal March 15, 1849
Justly sentenced. -- The drunken wretch, Wm. Baily, who killed his wife at New 
Orleans upon finding she had given birth to a daughter instead of a son, by 
jumping upon her, has been sentenced to the penitentiary for life at hard 
labor.
