Coburn, 79 Years Old, Is Taken by Death - Manager of Printing Department of Local Firm Ill Two Months - Arthur J. Coburn, 79 years old, died Tuesday at 3:30 p. m. at his home, 2521 Peniston street, after an illness of two months. Mr. Coburn was manager of the printing department of F. F. Hansell and Brother, Ltd., having been affiliated with the firm for 45 years. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:30 a. m. at the funeral parlors of Pat J. McMahon-Coburn, 2305 Canal street, with requiem mass at Our Lady of Lourdes church. Interment will be in the family tomb in Metairie cemetery. A native of New Orleans, Mr. Coburn was widely known. He was active in politics for half a century although he never held a political office. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. J. P. Maloney, Mrs. J. P. Reynolds and Miss Ida M. Coburn, principal of McDonogh 12 school; four sons, Robert J. Coburn, vice-president of the Pat J. McMahon-Coburn Funeral Home; Joseph J. Coburn of Detroit, Mich., Albert J. Coburn of Beaumont, Tex., and Arthur J. Coburn, Jr., of Cedar Rapides, Ia., and a brother Frederick J. Coburn of New Orleans. His wife, the former Miss Mary Ann McMahon, died 12 years ago.
