Janet "Mrs. Janice" McNeil Muhammad passed away peacefully on March 31, 2021 
at the age of 70. She was born on August 7, 1950 and was a lifelong resident 
of New Orleans. Janet was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School Class 
of 1970, where she studied cosmetology. She also liked to cook and she enjoyed 
sharing her meals with everyone she encountered. Janet is preceded in death by 
her parents, Elouise Marrero Dokes and Mack Henry McNeil, Jr. and two 
brothers, Mack Henry McNeil III and Walter Williams III. Left to cherish her 
memory is her loving husband of 43 years, Wali Muhammad, Sr. her children, 
Siebra A'isha Muhammad and Wali Muhammad, Jr. one brother Dale Dokes, many 
sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other 
relatives and friends. Private services will be held at a later date. We the 
family of the late Janet McNeil Muhammad would like to express our heartfelt 
gratitude and appreciation to everyone for the many acts of kindness and 
support you have shown to our family. Janet will be missed by all who knew 
her.
