MRS. ODENWALD TAKEN BY DEATH.

Mrs. Bertha O. Odenwald, 88, mother of Ward F. J. Odenwald, vice-president of 
Dixie Brewing Company, died at her home, 4116 Fontainebleau dr., Friday at 12:45 
a.m. following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Odenwald had been in ill health for 
several years.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 a.m. from the auxiliary funeral 
home of Jacob Schoen and Son, Inc., 3827 Canal. Religious rites will be at the 
Gloria Dei Lutheran church followed by interment in Metairie cemetery.

Mrs. Odenwald was a native of New Orleans and the widow of the late Joseph 
Odenwald, who was prominent in New Orleans ice cream business.

She was active in religious work and was one of the organizers of the Bethlehem 
Orphan Home, serving as treasurer of that organization for 26 years. She 
previously had been treasurer of the German-Protestant Orphan Asylum for many 
years.

In addition to her son, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Naomi O. Durr of New 
Orleans, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
