BARBARA SPORL - wife of Jacob Schoen, aged 33 years, died Wednesday, May 16, 1883. "Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord." Yesterday we saw her happy, Not a cloudlet on her face; Now to-day we find her sleeping - Locked fore'er in Death's embrace. From life's dreaming she hath wakened To a sphere where dwell the blest; Where exist no pain nor sorrow, Where there's but eternal rest. Yet 'tis hard to be thus summoned - Fresh and fair in life's glad morn; We have loved you, Barb, se dearly: Can it be that you are gone! Oh! 'tis hard to break asunder Earthly ties so sweet and bright; But we knew that God has willed it, And His way are ever right. Yet we miss you - miss you sorely; We have lost you here below - Sorrow's waves surge in our bosoms, For you're miss'd at fireside's glow. Though on earth we'll no more greet you, May we join you on yon Shore, Where there's sunshine and no darkness, Where we'll meet to part no more.
