Be it Remembered, That on this day to wit: the Seventh of July in 
the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Ninety Seven 
and the One Hundred and 22 of the Independence of the United States 
of America, before me, S. R. Olliphant, M.D. ... in and for the 
Parish and City of New Orleans, 

personally appeared 
Augustine E.Bertaut, native of Louisiana residing at No. 2915 Prieur 
St., who hereby declares that on the twenty fourth day of May 1894 
(24 May 1894) at his residence was born a male child, named 

			Paul Bertaut (white) 

lawful issue of deponent, a native of Louisiana, aged 43 years, 
occupation, Conductor and Euphemia Bertheaud, a native of this city, 
aged 37 years. 

Thus done at New Orleans, in the presence of the aforesaid 
A. E. Bertaut ... also signed by him.
