Crozat, duly commissioned and sworn recorder of Births and Deaths, in and for the Parish and City of Orleans personally appeared: Mr Theodore Bigot? a native of New Orleans residing on Marais Street between Moreau??? and Phillipe? (can't find streets that resemble this scribble on the map) streets Second? district in this city who by these presents declares that on the Twelth day of July of (scribble scribble) year (July 12th 1863) at Six O'Clock A.M. from a house situated on Frenchmen Street, third district in this city Was born a male child named (Carreras) John Henry (Carres struck out) issue of the lawful marriage of Mr John Carres a native of Spain with (illegible) Catherine Schwarcub a native of New Orleans City. Thus done at New Orleans in the presence of the aforesaid Theodore Bigot as also in that of Messrs. Fernand Morse(?) Crozat and Alfred A Laffarandane both of this city, witnesses by me requested so to be, who have hereunto set their hands together with me after due reading hereof, the day, month and year of the above written.
