Choppin, M.D. President Board of Health and Ex-Officio Recorder of Births, Deaths and Marriages, in and for the Parish and City of New Orleans, personally appeared : Charles Nelson, god father of Josephine Descas, a native of ------------ residing at----------------------------------------, who hereby declares that on the Second day of February Eighteen Hundred and Fifty Three (February 2, 1853) in the Third District in this city, was born a female child, named Josephine Descas (white) Lawful issue of Xavier Descas a native of France aged -- years, occupation Chief Stevedore and Amelia or Emily ?utzer a native of Germany aged -- years.
